The 色蜂视频 Library will host the first of three BookTalk 色蜂视频 discussions on Sunday, Jan. 5, from 1 to 3 p.m. on campus. Due to water damage in BSC’s Skogen Hall, the January discussion group will now meet in the BSC Student Union Alumni Room, 1425 Schafer Street, to examine Jeanine Cummins's book “American Dirt.” The conversation will be led by BSC Associate Professor of English Dr. Kim Crowley.

“American Dirt” tells the story of Lydia Quixano Perez and her eight-year-old son, Luca, as they flee cartel violence in Mexico. Their journey to El Norte is filled with danger, heartbreak, and hope, offering a deeply human perspective on migration. Praised as a literary achievement, the book has been featured in Oprah’s Book Club and selected as a Barnes & Noble Book Club pick.

On Sunday, Feb. 2, BookTalk 色蜂视频 will continue with a discussion on “The Beekeeper of Aleppo: A Novel” by Christy Lefteri. The final discussion, featuring “Exit West: A Novel” by Mohsin Hamid, will wrap up the series on Sunday, March 2.

BookTalk 色蜂视频 is the BSC Library’s annual book discussion series and is free and open to all. BookTalk 色蜂视频 is funded by the BSC Library and the Warren and Rose Marie Henke Memorial Library Endowment. For more information about the 2025 discussions, contact the BSC Library at 701-224-5450 or bsc.library@bismarckstate.edu, or visit bismarckstate.edu/booktalk.
